How one man becomes a microcosm of the Cyprus enigma: Failing law student Pierce Mathews rescues a mysterious Cypriot girl whose steleto heals sunk in the grass. She intrigues him with the history of her anexed island which has more impac on Pierces american barworker friend Ricky who's obsession with American foreign policy is no small illness. Andrula is invited to Pierces family home on the isle of man. When Pierce is invited to Cyprus for a job, things turn sour. He becomes a stooge, Ricky comes to to his aid intending to lead him to freedom through the Turkish Republic of Norther Cyprus.
