Having little interest of the world that existed outside his own mind, Ryson was the type of person who would have been content staring at walls and counting the strands of fiber sticking out from his carpet. After all, those fibers looked like little trees, and if he looked hard enough he was sure he could see a little village down amongst those strands where little villagers went about building cottages, municipal buildings and other industrious structures. Unfortunately for Ryson and the villagers (who incidentally survived off the cracker crumbs and Sugar-Aid that managed to fall about Ryson's floor), diabolical forces were at work.
