Rock Bottom

12 steps seem like too many. A day at a time seems too long. All he can manage is one minute at a time. One breath at a time. Drugs took everything from him. Everything that mattered. He often wondered how he let it come to this. He remembered when it all began, but buried deep inside are his reasons why. Flashbacks of that horrific day haunt him. Guilt and shame are what he carries with him. Words that ech in the back of his mind, "I am to blame for all of this!" How do you pull yourself out of the darkness, when you're not sure what to fight for anymore?
