The central theme of the book is the question of peace and war, of blessing and curse, of well-being and calamity. The word “Shalom” is a peaceful and beautiful word. It is a universal word. But where do war, suffering, and calamity come from? This book is about the search for their causes. The book offers two answers to the question of where evil and war come from. God is not the author of wars. Other powers are at work. The book brings together the creation account, the core of the Torah, the Gospel, and the Revelation of John.
