A young man’s life is turned upside down, when a chance encounter with a stranger causes him to question his life-long beliefs. The two begin a weekly dialogue wherein which the older man, Murray Solomon imparts life’s lessons. The young man is taught that “closeness kills,” “money is the most important thing,” and “getting old sucks.” We come to learn about Murray’s difficult childhood, which included getting a paper cut at age 11, and living in only the second largest estate in town. Despite suffering from severe infirmities (a blister and a callous), Murray dedicates himself to the younger man, who is left wondering how his priorities could have been so misguided?
