Om Prakash Sharma, MD, FRCP, DTM&H, Master FCCP, FACP Om Prakash Sharma was born in India. After obtaining an MD degree, he read tropical medicine at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, London. He served internships in Scotland, and England and a residency at Albert Einstein Medical College, Bronx, New York, where he completed the fellowship in cardiopulmonary medicine. As a Prophit Research Scholar of the Royal College of Physicians, London, he conducted immunological research in sarcoidosis at the Royal Northern Hospital Sarcoidosis Clinic, London. He was a Professor of Medicine in Residence at Kyoto University Medical School, Kyoto, Japan. Until his death in 2012, Dr Sharma was Professor of Medicine at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California, Los Angeles.
