Griefthrone Part One: The Beginning of the Fall The story of " Griefthrone" begins in ancient Iran, during the Parthian or Sassanian Empire. Navand, the Crown Princess and Commander of the Iranian army, returns to the capital after a year of brutal and bloody war with the Romans—defeated, wounded, and broken. Once the bearer of the royal banner on the battlefield, she now stands before her people with a wounded body and a tormented soul. But the real enemy is not lurking beyond the borders. Betrayal from within the court is gnawing at the roots of the throne, casting a darker shadow over the land of Iran every day. Navand, in an empty church near Persepolis, amidst a blizzard and the terrifying howl of the wind, whispers to herself that she knows nothing and suffers from this exhausting ignorance. She prays to God not to let the demon overpower her and to resist the dark whispers of rumors. The attendants tell her that the capital has been waiting for her arrival for days. They insist that Navand must appear before the Shahanshah and report, and sign the peace treaty with Rome for the cession of the lands beyond the Euphrates. Navand responds: "We were betrayed. There must have been betrayal—do not doubt it... a great betrayal." But the attendants warn that the country is in crisis and if Navand does not sign the treaty, the Roman legions, armed to the teeth, will sweep into the heart of Iran. ________________________________________ Part Two: The Court Full of Secrets In the capital, the Queen, Navand's mother, struggles to preserve the crown through political cunning and deception. As the wife of the dying King, she enters a dangerous political game with General Gracchus, the young and ruthless Roman commander. In this game, every mistake is fatal, and every promise may turn into a great betrayal. The Queen, through secret promises and seduction, has persuaded Gracchus to delay his attack on Iran. She tells Gracchus that after the King's death, Navand, as Crown Prince, will sign the treaty and Iran will formally cede the lands beyond the Euphrates to Rome. But the price of this game is the trust of her children and the destiny of her country. In secret meetings with Gracchus, the Queen makes promises about the future and even gives him hope of marriage after the King's death. But does the Queen truly intend to keep these promises? Or are they merely a ruse to buy time? On the other side, Atbin, Navand's brother, lurks in the shadows, waiting for an oppor
