In mines, forests, psychiatric wards, fissured cities, and deep space, people attempt survival when everything goes against them. Deerfly is a fifteen story collection that will leave even the biggest horror fans feeling uneasy. A group of boys go hunting a tiger in the woods. A man finds a video game that propels him thirty years into the past. A teenage girl finds her place among alien scarabs. A worker harvests parasites from whales that float through space. These are just a few of the stories within Deerfly. Each story represents a different system. Systems that do not care about the actions of the individual traversing it.
