Orbis Primus

These poems were written while in the shadows. The dark corners and deepest thoughts were not illuminated, but none the less cold, tenebrous, and comforting places to reside. I knew them well, not being afraid to explore the stygian recesses of my soul. The pedestal had been forcibly removed, summarily kicked away, and the former deity was once again a mere mortal among men. The sun set and gave way to the stars that were dimmer and less brilliant, but more numerous and decidedly more beautiful. I stared at the stars as I could never stare at the sun, and found inspiration there.
