Matrix Structural Analysis of Plane Frames using Scilab

A tutorial approach to programming the direct stiffness method of plane frame analysis using Scilab. A set of Scilab functions are developed over 9 tutorials and 15 pages. Knowledge of stiffness method is presumed and the focus is on developing the Scilab functions. An example problem from "Weaver, W & Gere, J.M., Matrix Analysis of Framed Structures, 2ed." is used for validation.
