Distractions. Our world is full of them, and increasing at a rapid rate. Some of them healthy and sometimes needed. Others can be burdensome and even shackling. Whether it be family, spouse, work, bills, social media, television and so on, we are all bombarded with distraction and our societally dictated priorities. Distraction from what, you might ask? Distraction from God, from truth, from the answers we all seek but are far too busy to pursue. It seems so easy for us to dismiss the questions about who we are, where we came from and where we are going. We pass those questions off to the “professionals”, the scientists, the mathematicians, the philosophers, the priests, the religious officials etc. We put our trust in one or more of those categories, or we just believe in ourselves and the “survival of the fittest” mentality. We should be making more of an effort to pry ourselves away from our distractions, whatever they may be in each of our busy lives to seek our Creator and to know Their will for our lives and for our existence. As you do this more and more, the discernment of truth will grow in you. The conviction to live a more truthful life will begin to change you. The veil begins to thin and your perspective begins to shift. That’s the evidence and confirmation that the truth shall set you free. Wisdom begins when we humble ourselves and show reverence to an almighty and sovereign Creator. When we realize that we are not merely mortal flesh, that we have a soul and a spirit as well, it opens our eyes and minds to the implications of that. That we are connected to our Creator. That we are connected to each other. That we are all unique, yet woven from the same loom. That it is not about you or me. There is only We.
