Shankar Narayanan is the photographer behind the lens.  Growing up in India where science and mathematics  were stressed above arts,  Shankar didn't receive a formal photography education.  Indeed, it was while he was studying to become an engineer  in college that he got introduced to photography, thanks to a professor who handed him department’s Leica film camera  to cover a special event and coached him in composition,  rule of thirds and other techniques.  ‘I got a lot of compliments on the photos  and that started me on this journey!’  The opportunities of practicing photography were difficult to find and this art was expensive at that time in India.  But thanks to his creativity, Shankar drew inspiration  and found his own photographic identity through Cinema. 'India was big on movies and it was a visual treat to watch brilliant cinematography on the big screen. I f anything, I may have gotten some of my inspiration  from watching those movies.
