Collected Zines: 2009-2020

This edition collects seven early zines from musician/artist/writer Thomas Boettner. Spanning 2009 to 2020, early experiments in aesthetics ("Fig. XXXV, no. 1") share space with political manifestos ("Possession Limits"), meditations on a theme ("<<Skull with Silver Tooth>>"), and autobiographical diary entries ("Fig. XXV [sic.], no. 2"). Later works like "Exile Tropic (night)" were intended to accompany the album of the same name, but never made it into production. Meanwhile, "A Long Record Of Emotional Distress" saw limited release in hand-assembled copies in an unnumbered edition, but here finds itself collected for posterity, showcasing a synthesis of earlier topics with later aesthetics and nonlinear narrative style, using digital collage as a means of restructuring various narrative authors on a similar theme.
