'Night of Life' implies that first contact with aliens may come with strings. 'Cuckoo' looks at cross species hook-ups. An exploration vessel explores VIRGOHI121 and finds a space Derelict.
Is our point of view the only sensible one? What would our pets say about us if they could talk? 'Carrie' gives a cat's view and 'Dodger' a dog's view of people. If an alien came to this planet, what would he or she see? Would such a visitor look at things the same way as we do? 'Aeschia' describes an alien's view of humanity. 'Impressions' relates the mystical thoughts of a wheelchair bound man.
'Message for Oeipa' and 'Winter in Alexandria' are prompted by the slaughter of three Roman legions in 9AD.
In *'Little Jimmy' an enormous reservoir has been built in the Rossendale Valley; *'Asbestalux' relates the hazards of dabbling with asbestos products. The British Empire still reigns supreme in *'Pax Imperii'.
