The Boron Book
A Terrain Guide to Boron and Borax

Boron is not an obscure supplement. It is an element the human body has been receiving from food and water for as long as there has been food and water. Borax — the traditional delivery form — has been used for two thousand years across Tibet, the Silk Road, medieval Europe, and industrial America. Modern farming stripped boron from the soil, water treatment displaced it from your tissues, and no one told you.
Rex Newnham, an Australian soil scientist working with severe osteoarthritis in the 1970s, was the first to document what a century of missing boron does — and what its restoration reverses.
This book draws on Newnham's clinical work, Forrest Nielsen's USDA research on postmenopausal bone and hormonal metabolism, and the essays of Curious Outlier. It traces boron from Tibetan borax miners and the Silk Road pharmacopoeia through medieval European medicine into the mid-twentieth-century collapse of dietary intake.
The book documents what boron does — in bone matrix, hormone metabolism, cartilage, cognitive function, and fungal terrain — and what depletion looks like at population scale. It examines the four mechanisms that hollowed out modern intake: industrial fertilisation, food processing, water fluoridation, and halogen displacement. It presents the Newnham Protocol and the Walter Last modification. It includes the food-first restoration pattern, the terrain conditions for uptake, and the borax chapter — what to buy, how to dose, what to expect.
The regulatory framework still classifies boron as non-essential. The evidence says otherwise.
The mineral is inexpensive. This is how you get it back.
