Our book doesn't aspire to be a historical document; its aim is to give a flavour of the influences on Swanwick over 700 years of history. As the footpaths cross at Hill Top where Swanwick began, so the paths of churchmen, landowners, miners, farmers and industrialists have crossed, shaping the nature of our people over the centuries and leading to our village being a place of warmth and generosity of spirit, built on the foundation of Christian love.
