Darwin Mott (left) and Elliott Jaques having fun at work in 2001 Born and raised in Creelman, SK., Darwin Mott has over 35 years working in privately-held, publicly-traded and government crown corporations in construction, mining, manufacturing, retail and telecommunications, with expertise in the areas of safety, labour relations, and human resourcing. He received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration majoring in Industrial Relations and Marketing from Michigan Technological University. After a pro hockey career and before his 30th birthday, he was disillusioned with working in large bureaucratic systems when, in 1980, he was introduced to the writings of the late Dr. Elliott Jaques by the widely acclaimed book, A General Theory of Bureaucracy (1976). This forever changed the playing field for Darwin, in the way he experienced work and how he approached achieving reliable, sustainable results.
