Luz María López is a writer of poetry, short stories, essays, and is currently writing a fiction novel with a co-author. She has presented her work in various international poetry festivals around the world, having published poetry in several anthologies, some of them granted with special recognition. She is a poet activist defending women's rights and member of the International Organizing Committee for the World Poetry Festival (WFP-IOC), Poetic Sanctuaries All Around the World. In 2014 she participated as a poet in the WFP Santa Marta-Sierra Nevada, Colombia, Poetic Sanctuary. She has been organizing many poetry events in her country, such as IX FIP May Global Actions and 100 Thousand Poets for a Change. Next celebrations do include the Magna International Book Fair 2015 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, as a staff member and author.
