When I was a kid, I combed through all the scrap wood and old crap in the barn behind my house, sawing, screwing and nailing the choice pieces together into abstract sculptures. Later in life, I worked for years as a stagehand in a theater trying to make set windows magically open by themselves with intricate pulley systems. So when I had the crazy idea that writing short stories could get me deeper into my ongoing attempts at writing lyrics, I started combing through that big barn called life and discovered, through trial and error, how to cut apart, rearrange and glue what I found together with words as I went. Six years and some grey hairs later, some of the stories are finally ready to be pushed out of the nest. Writing has taught me a lot about myself and has turned out to be the ultimate experience in being creative... and honest... and has brought a lot of satisfaction and joy into my life. I hope that some of this joy seeps through the words and into your heart.
