Reading and writing has always delighted me. As a child, Mother often read stories, and we children looked forward to a winter evening and another good book. We would take turns reading aloud. When I was a teenager, nothing delighted me more than a sandwich, a cold drink and a book. Often a summer afternoon found me so involved. That led me into writing. A few years after my year at college I began to write regularly. In 1972 I began a family newsletter and it continues monthly.
