Alan Brown is an established jazz pianist and Hammond organist within New Zealand, from having led a highly successful jazz-funk band in the 90’s – Blue Train (1996 Jazz Album of the Year winner), through to being a core member of The Grand Central Band, and released his own contemporary Jazz album 'Between The Spaces' in 2011. He has performed regularly with international saxophonist Nathan Haines since 2010. Alan has also released a number of ambient electronic albums since 2020. Alan has a Masters of Music degree in Jazz performance. He taught at MAINZ (Music & Audio Institute of New Zealand) for 19 years, and now lectures at SAE (School of Audio Engineering).
