A proposito di
Catharine Anderson
Introduction By the time I met Catharine J. Anderson, these flashes of light, and the bursts of sound that accompanied them, had since faded into the ether. Our paths would soon cross on the opposite end of the country, and fortunately for myself and other musicians in southern Florida at that time, Cat had expanded her ambitions beyond just photography to the publication of Gold Coast Live, a newspaper dedicated to documenting our humble, yet burgeoning, scene. With eyes and ears honed while the following pictures were first captured in the early 1980s, she promoted and supported Florida music and musicians in those days before you could find a band with the click of a mouse. Included in these images are the obscure, the famous and the future stars. But the future was never the point for most of the subjects, it was the moment. And these are moments too easily missed, and we should all be grateful for the finger on the shutter and the eye behind the lens. Lou Ming Brooklyn
