Jane F. Morrissey has spent 60 of her 81 years as a Sister of St. Joseph of Springfield, Massachusetts. One of seven children born to loving parents, she grew up in in Westfield, Mass., graduating from St Mary’s High school there and received her bachelor’s degree from the College of Our Lady of the Elms — Elms college—in Chicopee in 1962. She holds a doctorate in English with a concentration in medieval literature from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. This book recounts significant events and experiences in her life and includes excerpts from her most recent journal. The narrative is enriched by selected entries, which bring an intimacy to her story. Recognized as a tireless advocate for justice, peace and non-violence, Sister Jane has given her time, energy and heart to the disenfranchised—“dear neighbors”—near and far. Pax Christi USA named her an Ambassador of Peace in 2022. Her book reflects her deep commitment to family, friends and her religious community; her love for the poor and her abiding faith in God.
