I am a professional automotive engineer who specialises in the subject of British armour, especially that of World War II. My aim is to provide both an overall and an in-depth view of British tank development, so that it is better understood, and its successes and failures are better appreciated within the context that they emerged. My books are intended to educate readers as to the particular development and service histories of individual vehicles, to place the context of those histories within the overall arc of British tank development, and to give a general education on automotive engineering generally. They are also constructed to ensure that the reader garners as much knowledge of any particular vehicle as the author himself, thus widening the pool of knowledge and expertise amongst students of British armour specifically, and of students of tank design and development as a whole.
