After leaving the abusive relationship that left me physically paralyzed in my spine and left limbs, I relocated to Virginia to start over. There was an overwhelming need for someone to do black hair in the area. In the last five years I’ve successfully ran my salon, started a line of wig vending machines in local malls, as well as hand making an entire line of hair growth products. My products are all organic and plant based, and they’ve shown growth in three weeks or less, even on alopecia clients that were told by doctors that they could no longer grow hair. My proudest moments are when I give women the mirror and they cry tears of joy and they hold their head a little higher. I can visibly witness their confidence coming back. Having birthed a premature daughter who suffered with severe eczema, my fight against scalp health is personal. Eczema patches in her scalp would cause hair loss, and I made it my mission to figure out how to treat and prevent that from happening. When it worked for my daughter I began using it on my clients as well. After seeing consistent results, they just about begged me to sell it to them. Over time, Growing Hands By Weavology Boutique was born. Having survived my personal trials, I make it my business to give back. I volunteer at the local domestic violence shelter providing my services free of charge once a month, as well as when the women have court or job interviews.
