Simon Langley-Evans, a retired academic, currently resides in Leicestershire. During a highly successful academic career, Langley-Evans left an indelible mark, most notably through the creation of three editions of a pivotal textbook for undergraduate and masters level nutrition and dietetics students. The culmination of his expertise, the third edition, titled "Nutrition, Health and Disease: a Lifespan Approach," was published by Wiley in 2021. Since retirement,Simon has embarked on a literary journey that transcends the boundaries of academia. His repertoire includes a comprehensive guide on academic writing tailored for early career researchers, aptly named "How to Write a Scientific Paper." However, his creative spirit extends beyond the confines of academia, manifesting in a collection of short stories entitled 'Death Comes to Cockburn and Other Stories.' This anthology showcases the author's versatility, exploring genres ranging from tales of violent revenge and supernatural mystery to political commentary and science fiction. Notably, the collection features a short radio play titled 'Playing Football With Hitler and Jesus.' In the year 2023, 'Death Comes to Cockburn and Other Stories' and Langley-Evans's parody wildlife guide, 'The Spotter’s Guide to the Modern University,' were published online. Simon is currently immersed in a novel, poised for release in late 2024.
