Hi, my name is Melody Barnao, the author of 'The Last Koala'. I have been involved in conservation projects and also as a volunteer in tree-planting for wildlife in Australia for the past several years. In that time, I have gained some insight and knowledge about the animals who live and depend on our trees for survival, in particular the koala species. Unfortunately, life has dealt them a heavy blow of late and it has come to my urgent attention that we need to create more awareness to help with their continued survival in the wild. My short story is a prediction to a very bleak future for our little furry friends if we don't act now.
