Panspermia Life

Manned spaceflights to the stars have become commonplace. What isn't commonplace is the existence of life, which has never been found outside the Earth. Until the crew of a small survey craft make an incredible discovery at a remote planet; an alien life form. Before the crew can take possession of their find, however, it is cruelly taken from them in a way that could surely only ever bring about its complete and total annihilation. Then one of the crew becomes convinced all hope is not lost and suggests a daring plan to get it back. The crew must make a decision; lose this incredible find forever or risk their lives in a brazen effort to retrieve it.
