Aaron W. Andrews grew up in Arkansas with four brothers, Mom & Dad. He was always fascinated by the LIFE magazine his mom kept in a cedar chest, he loved the paintings of the Voyage of the Campbell. It wasn't until his father was in his later years that Aaron got the idea to "interview" his dad and mom and question them about the magazine article. It was a feature story about his Dad's service in the U.S. Coast Guard in WWII. For the first time Aaron's father discussed his service. It was such a fascinating story Aaron wrote it all down, interviewed his Mom for her take on the story, then researched libraries, Coast Guard archives, web sites and his Grandmother's scrapbooks. From all this information, he created a lasting tribute to his father telling his story in an historic novel, available here.
