This is a collection of Persian poems by Abbas Amanat composed between 1991 and 2024. Some are in the style of Persian ghazal and others in free verse. Abbas Amanat is a historian who, as a pastime, occasionally composes poetry. This book is a selection of his poems in Persian. Born in 1947 (no need for the equivalent), he is a graduate of the Tehran University and Oxford University when he received his DPhil in 1981. He has taught for forty-one years and currently is the William Sumner Emeritus Professor at Yale. His forthcoming books in Persian are on solar calendar and Iranian identity and on foundation binaries in Iranian history.
