The purpose of this book is to enable the Christian to better respond to the healing presence of Christ.
We all come to the healing moment with various prejudices concerning the reality of a living God. This guide responds to these prejudices, doubts and anxieties.
We hope to instruct the seeker concerning healing, the will of God, the role of faith, Church history, suffering and why sometimes people are not healed. The approach will also provide a model for healing.
Throughout the Guide we use counselees’ letters and case studies that illustrate a variety of responses to the healing presence of Christ. These witnesses can provide an often much much-needed encouragement for those who are seeking healing.
It is important that all propositions be biblically grounded. We have endeavored to substantiate my claims with the best exegesis available as well as with clinical witnesses.
Getting Healed, Staying Healed is a collaborative venture between Kathleen and myself. The Chapters 1-17 are largely my experiences with Kathleen accompanying me. Chapters 23-41 are a product of both experiences and academic study.
We both sincerely hope that you will enjoy and learn from these experiences.
