FORBIDDEN

Why is it that we gravitate towards the forbidden? Is it human nature? Adam and Eve didn’t resist temptation in Eden, and many of us carry on the tradition to this day. Some men for example, have practically made a career out of chasing after married women without considering the fact that they are already married. At some level, perhaps we want what we cannot have. But is it worth it? Does the nectar of the forbidden taste so sweet that it is worth the drama, frustration, resources, energy and effort? I wonder, can everything taste so good? There is plenty of forbidden fruit ripe enough for the picking, but is it worth the high price tag on it? We actively plant the seeds of tomorrow through the actions we take today. If I suckle on the luscious and honeyed juices of the forbidden fruit, then there will be consequences for my actions. Ultimately, by crossing whatever bounds, am I creating a more fulfilled life for myself, family and the people around me? These are a million dollar questions we must ask ourselves and find answers to. We must be aware of our role as creator, and bring that awareness to the choices we make because for every action, there is an equal or an opposite outcome.
