This is an intermediate knitting pattern to help you make a footed baby romper!
The pattern comes in newborn, 3 months and 6-12 months sizes.
The newborn size is meant to fit the baby for the first two weeks. It makes a great coming home from the hospital outfit, and it also is the size that is preferred by newborn photographers.
This pattern’s gauge is 20 stitches in 4in/10cm in stockinette stitch (row gauge does not matter in this pattern).
You will need: DK or Worsted yarn (up to 110 grams for the smallest size, up to 250 grams for the largest size), knitting needles to obtain the gauge, cable needle, five buttons, darning needle or crochet hook to weave in the yarn ends, two stitch holders or scrap yarn, stitch marker, sewing needle and matching thread to sew on the buttons.
Upper part of the romper is knit flat, but the bottom part, legs and sleeves are knit in the round.
