Tod Peterson is retired Detective Inspector Bob James’s best friend, and also his business partner in JP Associates detective agency based in Leith Edinburgh, so after Tod had been incarcerated in Edinburgh Prison for murder, Bob had taken it very badly, to say the least, and had avoided JP Associates offices at all costs. When he did eventually build up the courage to return to work, he soon wished he hadn’t. Not even he, the infamous Detective Bob James would have guessed what JP Associates’ Secretary Tracey would involve him in. After stumbling into a crime scene which appeared to involve black magic and the afterworld, he is then subsequently employed as a Consultant in the same investigation by Police Scotland, where it becomes increasingly more difficult to ensure that he is not suspected of being involved in the crime.
