NORTH RAMPART

This is a slow, soulful tune based on a photograph taken on North Rampart Street in New Orleans. The image portrays a young boy in a parade struggling to play his trombone as an older man kneels down by his side to help. The sense of the city's communal love for music resonates strongly from this photo and, particularly in light of the Katrina tragedy, inspired the writing of this piece. This download includes all transposed instrumental parts, a concert score, and transposed chord changes for all instruments.
