Ervine terrace is an architecture with which finds its authority with the local community through its ageing solitude. Validated by its subverted resemblance to the remaining terraces, it forms a implicit part of local historic identity, providing a frame of reference to the memories of all that have grown up with it.
Ervine terrace presents a plethora of experience and possibility ignored by adults except for those in acts of necessity. It takes the imagination of children to explore and develop the holistic possibilities of use and adventure which exist in these spaces; and it is through the remnants of activity that youth can be identified as the principle users of the uncanny Ervine terrace.
