IN FLIGHT

VERONICA: "...this bilingual presentation of poems, which is both a translation and an interpretation, would not have come about if Alexandra had not one day asked me, «Veronica, what is your poetry really about?» To answer «About love and relationships» seemed banal, and in an effort to find a good answer I began to recite poems in Russian and tried to paraphrase them in English. She responded, «Though I don't have a mastery of Russian, I love them!» Shortly after that, she adapted one of my poems into English and gave it a sort of second birth. What a terrific effect! This is how our collaboration began."
