Indeed, though this book draws upon the romanticism of the archetypal hero’s tale, it is not a world of simple magical solutions, arch-villains, or knights in shining armor. It is a tale painted in shades of gray and driven by loyalty and manipulation, love and hatred, and above all, the human capacity to endure against a world of increasing disorder.
