Zero Net Energy Workshop and Design Charrette

Through a series of presentations and an interdisciplinary design charrette, participants in this zero net energy design workshop will develop a roadmap to understanding the issues, barriers, and institutional needs at the start of the design process, followed by a schematic design for a prototypical office building. Results from two workshops are featured in this book: 1) Portland, Oregon on March 21, 2009 for 50 architects and engineers, sponsored by the Van Evera Bailey-Oregon Community Foundation Faculty Award from the University of Oregon’s Department of Architecture, and 2) San Francisco, CA on April 29, 2009 for 50 architects at the AIA Convention.
