Due Process is an intensive 5-hour lesson that engages students in critical thinking skills and conflict resolution. Through a youth-adult partnership framework, this youth-led curriculum is set in the context of a mock trial stemming from a fictional hate crime at school.
Peer educators and student participants actively explore challenging concepts about safety and identity, and prepare to create change in their own schools with the active support of classroom teachers and other adult allies. This book provides the curriculum and handouts for a training-of-trainers program that will prepare youth to not only lead Due Process in their own school, but also to lead 50-minute anti-homophobia workshops with their peers.
