The peaceful life of a little town comes to an end when a nun is murdered in the convent. Because of lack of evidence, the case is closed. But Mother Superior, concerned about the state her convent is slipping into, takes a partial dispensation of her vows, and with Constable Megan Darcy, leaves her sheltered life of twenty-eight years, and goes to search for enough evidence to reopen the case. She ends up getting more than she bargained for.
