The Betrayal

Panic and adrenaline surged through Kate, and she kicked her feet up at the man, smiling in satisfaction when he grunted. He slapped her across the face in retaliation. Tears welled in Kate's eyes from the impact of the man’s hand. The man straddled her body on the bed and pulled something out of his pocket. He pushed her tee shirt up and placed something over her bare abdomen. The cold metal sent another surge of panic racing through her veins. A gun. Something soft was forced against her face. Her pillow. He was going to suffocate her with her pillow, just like he did to the other women. Kate fought against him as the man pushed the pillow harder over her face.
