In this book Andrew explores themes of love, disappointment, joy, questioning, growing older, and yes, food, sex, and the weather. "Mulberry Juice" is both a companion to and a departure from his previous book, "Father and Son." In "Father and Son," Andrew and his oldest son, Louis, faced off with their respective poems appearing on opposite pages. However, in "Mulberry Juice" Andrew’s words stand alone and express the thoughts, hopes, and dreams of a man fast approaching the mid century mark. He is as ready to laugh at himself as he is to admit to the disillusionment that often comes with aging. These poems and stories blend reality with fantasy to form an honest expression of faith in the human spirit.
