Pictures From the Liminal Zone is a chronological collection of visual ideas and insights, discursive reveries, and multilayered microcosmic speculations. Communicated mainly through the more nuanced language of symbolism and metaphor, Andy’s drawings can be viewed equally as a graphically sketched expedition into the psycho-symbolic thought stream of a self-taught artist, a study in high paradox, a visual notepad for positing life’s great questions, or a broader depiction of the hidden forces that make the all-too-human world go around.
As you immerse yourself in these pages, you’ll find that the content of each drawing remains somewhat elusive yet vaguely familiar, evading simple descriptions yet making sense within the relational borderland between conscious thinking and intuitive processing. If this all seems too vague a description, then, like life, I guess you’ll just have to dive right in and find out for yourself what any of it means.
