The Ashaninka along with the Yanesha are among the last ethnic groups of indigenous people left in the Peruvian Amazon. Located in a limited area called Selva Central, the various communities are currently in a state of destitution and overwhelmed by constant attempts to convert them to some sect of Christian origin with the aim of erasing their identity. After numerous visits, the author managed to get accepted and for over nine months he collected analyzes and testimonials by recording over 1000 video clips.
This book based on the stories of the members of the San Jerónimo native community of the Ashaninka-Yanesha of Puerto Yurinaki in Peru consists of 296 pages with over 80 topics on their origins, dances, cooking recipes, music, traditions, crafts ecological and many other curiosities. The interactive version of the book in HTML5 also includes 75 videos and 10 sound clips. Special thanks to the leaders Raúl Vasquez, Galindo Ampicha and to all those who participated without whom the book could not have existed.
