Lorelei, a young Christian woman living in Switzerland during World War Two, receives a letter from her Jewish family members in Germany begging for help. She and her significant other, Dimitri, go to make a new life in Germany where they can help out the Morgens. Will their attempts be futile? Lorelei struggles to stay alive as she meets three orphans who she feels obligated to protect, all while still caring for her own family.
