A Life Full of Surprises is the story of Anna Fleming's life. The author tells the story of her childhood in Southeastern Europe during the 1920's and 1930's, and her family's efforts to navigate the many dangers of life on the front lines of World War II. Through a collection of memories spanning nearly nine decades, she describes her scrapes and encounters with the German Gestapo, Russian forces and Serbian partisans, as well as Hungarian and American Intelligence officers. She describes how luck was with her and her family at every turn. She also chronicles her very different life in America after the War, and introduces you to a few of the many interesting people she's met along the way. Her story provides a truly rare perspective on life then and now.
