Dan looks me up and down appraisingly for a moment. “I like you,” she declares. “I really do. And I’ll leave you alone. I’m sorry I stalked you for a day.” “It’s fine.” “And I’m sorry I bothered you all of last night.” “Don’t worry about it.” “And I’m sorry I stuffed an open bag of Cheetos between the pages of your sketchbook.” “Dan!” I start to dig through my bag. “Kidding. Get to class.” And she walks away confidently, doesn’t look back, even though she’s walking in the wrong direction. “What about you? Where’re you going?” I call after her. “I’m sick,” she shouts back. “You don’t look sick.” She throws her hands up. “Appearances, they’re deceiving, man.” As if Sidney Jones doesn't have enough problems of his own, his best friend, Emily, and adopted siblings, Cari and Lonzo, both need his help. What starts out as a rescue mission soon gets out of control.
