Mixed Message Media
Department of Communication
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
As with all technology, the growing presence of social media continues to change the way people live, work, and communicate with others. Based on the findings of recent scholarly studies, a Meredith campus-wide student survey, and a series of video interviews, this project explores both positive and negative influences of social media in the life experiences of adults. Several paradoxical themes emerge, including 1) connection vs. isolation, 2) public vs. private, and 3) truth vs. untruth. As media users become increasingly involved in social networking sites, it is important to analyze these mixed messages and the potential impact on the quality of everyday life.
