“Fratricide” is an artist's book that retells the story of Cain and Abel through agricultural history, pseudoscientific journal articles, prose writing, graphite illustrations, and documentary imagery. The book utilizes the story to discuss historical and modern issues involving land and agriculture. The text and design intentionally obfuscate then slowly reveal the narrative as it progresses from the dawn of agriculture and animal domestication to the poisoning of the land after significant violence—the fratricide.
